Welcome to this the official website of the Rainbow Centre in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
The Rainbow Centre was established in 1997 to offer support to vulnerable people in practical ways in the local community.
The Centre offers an ‘open door’ to individuals and families who are homeless and at risk of becoming homeless, offering compassion, support and hope. We work with people who are struggling and in need of a chat, support and often guidance to change their lifestyle choices.
Each year we make around 12,500 critical interventions, providing support to vulnerable people in difficult circumstances.
We offer specialist debt advice and budgeting support through Rainbow Money to anyone struggling with their finances. We can also support clients into training opportunities to better their circumstances in the longer term.
We are a small team of dedicated staff and volunteers that believe in fairness and equality. We strive to help those that fall between the gap that other services are unable to help. We really value the support of the community in assisting us to remain present and active and to continue to support those who are facing the most difficult of challenges. Please consider helping the centre on a regular basis by becoming a regular donor, even a small amount makes such a difference to supporting local individuals and families in real need.
Your support could help to provide assistance such as an emergency food parcel, a warm discretionary meal for the homeless, access to a hot shower and washing facilities, clean donated clothing and bedding.
If you have any spare time, we have volunteering opportunities throughout all areas of the centre. Please contact us on 01723 500663.
