A Big thank you to all our supporters!
Christmas was an overwhelming success. The Centre was incredibly well supported by the local community who donated a huge amount of food and presents.
Christmas 2019 stats:
- We gave out 900 food parcels
- Presents for nearly 400 children
- Saw between 150-200 people per day
- 218 adults and children came for Christmas dinner-with the help of McCain’s Foods and Scarborough Technical College they all had a wonderful time
- Provided a wonderful New Year meal to many people which helped the holiday season end on a really positive note with the help of Stepney Hill Farm
We would like to thank all of our regular givers, donors, volunteers and supporters for your kind generosity and time. With your help we were able to stay open and active for another year to support people in need in the community. Over the past year we helped more people than ever with so many wide and varied issues. We witnessed miracles in peoples’ lives and watched people turn their lives around, whilst we also shared so many sad times, losing many of our clients along the way.
So, we continue our mission into the New Year and beyond with your help- through your support and donations we will strive to continue to be here for as long as the Centre is needed.

The Rainbow Centre has changed its charitable status
The Charity Commission has recently offered charities the opportunity to switch to a new structure called a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, or CIO for short. This new structure offers several advantages for us and so the trustees decided to convert the charity to a CIO. The old registration was wound up on 31 December 2019 and the new CIO began on 1 January 2020. Everyday activities will remain the same.
