Christmas 2020 seems a long time ago, but it was a massive event which saw us feed almost 1500 people – roughly 2% of the entire population of Scarborough town. The food parcels contained up to 10 bags of food for some of our larger families. and on the first day of collection we handed out parcels at a rate of one every minute and a half. Phew! We could not have done that without the support of all our volunteers, but particularly Scarborough Fire Service who did a lot of the running and lifting for us, and Queen Street Methodists who generously lent us their hall. We also collected and gave out Christmas gifts to over 550 children and the photo might give you an idea of the sheer scale of the operation!

Thanks to the Coronavirus, our usual sit-down Christmas lunch was also a no-go this year, but we did manage to serve a two-course take-away dinner to almost 200 people, with food generously provided by McCains and Morrisons and cooked for us by students from Scarborough TEC.
