Today we want to shine a very special spotlight on two of our incredible volunteers, Bridget & Donna, who work tirelessly behind the scenes running Stores & Donations here at The Rainbow Centre.
Every single day, they are there to receive, sort, organise and prepare the incredibly generous donations that come into the Centre from our wonderful local community. It is a huge job, and one that they carry out with an amazing amount of dedication, care and enthusiasm.
But that isn’t all they do…
Bridget & Donna also plan and organise our monthly Jumble & Book Sales in the hall — from sorting through donations and preparing the stock, to setting everything up and making sure the event is ready for everyone who comes through the doors.
And yesterday, with the help of a few of our other fantastic volunteers, they achieved something pretty special…
£200 RAISED!
That is the most we have ever raised from a single Jumble Sale since they started organising them!
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing donations we receive from our community, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to support us.
But we also want people to know that those donations don’t simply appear on a shelf.
There are hours and hours of work behind them.
Bridget & Donna dedicate so much of their own time to sorting, organising, preparing and creating a monthly event that has become something really special at The Rainbow Centre.
It provides us with much-needed funds, gives donated items a new home, and gives people the opportunity to pick up some fantastic bargains along the way.
