Yesterday, our CEO Jo had the pleasure of attending two fantastic fashion shows organised by Breast Mates Scarborough, and once again they used the events to collect much-needed food and toiletries for The Rainbow Centre.
Breast Mates have been supporting our foodbank through their fashion shows since 2023, and there is a very special reason behind their support.
A cancer diagnosis can turn life upside down in so many ways. For some people, treatment can mean many months away from work and a significant reduction in household income. At a time when the last thing anyone should have to worry about is putting food on the table, sadly some people undergoing cancer treatment find themselves needing the support of our foodbank.
The lovely ladies at Breast Mates understand this, which is why they continue to support us alongside the wonderful work they do for people affected by breast cancer.
Thank you to everyone who attended the fashion shows and brought along donations of food and toiletries, and to all the Breast Mates team for continuing to think of The Rainbow Centre year after year.
